When did I become 'Madam, can I help you' - it seems like yesterday
that it was 'Miss' ...did it happen when the kids started coming (and coming) or I hit 30? I think it was gradual, but now that window has shut and the curtains drawn tight and there is only the depressing sounding 'madam', which I ignore hoping they're talking to some 80 year old standing behind me....(or perhaps a sex worker) Would it kill
retail workers to say Miss? I think it's  good business practice - it makes me feel sooo old. Humor me...please...even  'hey lady - what's
up' has to be better. Let's start a retail awareness campaign, I'll print some t-shirts with the slogan ...'Miss' me! - I think it has potential. Stay tuned, I might even start a blog (yes, this irks  me) That's it....rant over.

But then there are the market survey 'children' (well they look about 5..) who call you Miss as they chase you down in the 5 spare minutes you call lunch time. That might be ok but when it is accompanied by inane comments about your hair colour and simpering requests for 5 minutes of your valuable time' becomes condescending and more insulting than Madam.
A sincere Miss perhaps?
That is all, end of rant

    Rules to Blog

    - No targeting or personal attacks on individuals or groups, businesses etc.
The idea is to let of steam in a general way and it is more about things that irk and irritate rather than attacking and destroying.

    - Gloom free zone

    is a problem halved.

    - No swearing or suggestive comments
(I am aware that this is becoming a fuzzy line, but this will ultimately be up
    to pleasemissme.com to decide).
